日本のカルチャーの発信地「渋谷」では古くか ら築き上げてきた
ものの中に次々と新しいものが築き上げられていく。
OLD PALはそんな渋谷の中心にありながら、扉を開けた先は
古き良き英国の隠れ家BARのような落ち着いた空間で
ウィスキーベースのオリジナルのお酒などを楽しむことができる。
この空間の中央にあるシンボリックなペンダントライトは
職人の手加工で鉄を熱し叩いて形にする”鍛造”の技術で形にしており
上半分を”錆”の仕上げ、下半分を”素地”の仕上げになっている。
これは、年月を重ね育まれてきたものと、新しく生まれてくるものが
一つ枠の中で混じり合って新しい表情になっていく様を表現している。
In Shibuya, the epicenter of Japanese culture, new things are
constantly being built amidst what has been built up over the years.
OLD PAL is located in the heart of Shibuya, but once you open
the door you'll find yourself in a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent
of a good old British hideaway bar, where you can enjoy original
whiskey-based drinks.
The symbolic pendant light in the center of this space has been
handcrafted by artisans using the forging technique, in which iron
is heated and hammered to form the shape, with the upper half
finished in a rust effect and the lower half in a bare metal finish.
This represents the way that things that have been nurtured
over the years and new things that are born blend together
within a single frame to create a new look.
