「JEANS YAMATO」は戦後間もなくより愛知県の豊橋を中心に
ジーンズ文化を築いてきた老舗のアメリカンカジュアルショップです。
店舗には”ジーンズ・ソムリエ”の資格を持つスタッフがおり
お客様ひとりひとりに親身に向き合ってくれる接客で
地元に愛され続けている。
このアートは ”アパレルが生まれるストーリーや作り手の思いを
ひとつひとつ丁寧に提案してくれるスタッフがここにはいる”
という表現です。
アパレル界の巨匠たちが描いたようなタッチで画家に
描き下ろしてもらったオリジナルの絵画は、JEANS YAMATOの
テイストらしいカジュアルな服のデッサン画。
立体になり飛び出している部分には、キャンバスの絵画と同じ
ペイントが描かれていて、平面と立体の境界線が曖昧になり
アパレルが形を成していく様を表現しています。
そして、立体が履いているデニムはショップで販売している
アイテムであり、このアート自体がJEANS YAMATOから
お客様にむけて発信をするためのアイコンになっている。
"JEANS YAMATO" is a long-established American casual shop
that has been building a jeans culture centered around
Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture since shortly after the war.
The store has staff who are certified as "jeans sommeliers,"
and continues to be loved by locals for their attentive service
to each and every customer.
This art expresses the idea that "we have staff here who will
carefully suggest each and every story behind the creation
of apparel and the thoughts of the creators."
The original painting, created by an artist in a style reminiscent
of that of the apparel industry's masters, is a sketch of
casual clothing that reflects the JEANS YAMATO style.
The protruding, three-dimensional parts are painted with
the same paint as the canvas painting, blurring the line
between flat and three-dimensional objects and expressing
the way the apparel takes shape.
The denim worn by the figure is an item sold in the shop,
and the art itself serves as an icon for communicating with
customers from JEANS YAMATO.
