アドバイザリー企業である”HAKLUYT”の東京オフィス。
創業者はなんと元イギリス情報局秘密情報部(MI6)の職員で
広範囲で高度なネットワークから、公的な情報源からは得られない
独自の知見を提供しています。
イギリスらしいトラディショナルなエッセンスをベースに
丸の内の景観に馴染むようなバランスでモダンなエッセンスをMIX。
アームチェアは現代では再現が難しい素晴らしい彫刻の
イギリスのアンティークを使用し、伝統的な”ボタンタフティング”
で手作業により、モダンなファブリックに張り替え。

ソファやオットマンは、モダンなフォルムをデザインしつつ
クラシックな彫刻を施した無垢木削り出しのレッグや
真鍮のリベット、共生地のスカートなどを飾り
随所に”本物”を追求しています。

テーブルはソリッドなスチールを使用したモダンなフォルムの中に
アンティークさながらのエッジの色褪せた仕上げや
鍛造職人の手作業による無垢の鉄を曲げた装飾など
技術を積み重ねた奥深い表情をさせています。
某有名スパイ映画に出てくるオフィスのように
クラシックな空間のからにハイテクなツールが出てきそう。
The Tokyo office of HAKLUYT, a British strategic consulting and
advisory firm headquartered in London.
The founder is a former officer of the British Secret Intelligence Service
(MI6), and his extensive and sophisticated network allows him
to provide unique insights that cannot be obtained from public sources.
Based on traditional British elements, it mixes modern elements
in a way that blends in with the Marunouchi landscape.
The armchair is made from an antique British piece with
magnificent carvings that would be difficult to reproduce in
modern times, and has been reupholstered in modern fabric
using traditional button tufting by hand.
The sofas and ottomans have a modern design, but are adorned with
classic carved solid wood legs, brass rivets, and skirts made
from the same fabric, pursuing authenticity in every detail.
Each piece is made to order by hand by artisans in Tokyo's downtown area.
The table has a modern form made from solid steel, but the faded edges
give it an antique look, and the decoration is made by hand from
solid iron bent by a forger, giving it a deep expression that is the result
of accumulated skills.
Like an office in a famous spy movie, the classic space is home to
high-tech machines and weapons... It's a fun space that invites deep reading.
